8月29日 Hooking at 14!Not too much surprises me anymore. I'm sure I haven't seen it all, or heard it all, but most days I see the same stuff. Normal, in my world, and probably wild to any "normal" person. Yesterday I had an incident, which had an effect on me...
I was cruising through a high crime area of the industrial zone, when I noticed a parked vehicle occupied by 4 subjects. I pulled in and illuminated the vehicle. This is a give away. They all know a cop is behind them. If there was only one person I would've snuck up without light, so that I could catch them in the act of something illegal. A full car warrants more safety. I wanted to see all their hands. I walked up and saw tha left rear passenger lift up in her seat and then move her hands under her butt.
This is usually a sign of someone hiding something, or trying to retrieve something. Most of the time it's drugs, or drug paraphenalia. However, I play it safe and awalys treat it as a possible weapon. I remove the left rear passenger, who is wearing a VERY short mini-skirt, tight t-shirt, and sandals. I also notice she's about 15 years old.
After searching her seat area, and finding no weapon, I walk her back to the rear of the car and ask how old she is. She tells me that she's 18 and gives a name and date of birth. I quickly detected a lie and told her to tell the truth. She continued the lie. I contacted the 3 other subjects, all adult females, and they gave more lies. I was unable to verify the young girls identity, so I obtained her purse. Turns out it had nothing in it, but condoms.
I ended up (this is the short version of the incident) taking the girl into the precinct and she gave two more false names, before I took her in for finger-prints. The prints came back with her true identity and it turns out she's only 14 years old! I had an "interesting" conversation with her and she admitted to being a hooker. She said that she earned $1,500 a night, which is most likely BS, but it is a tell. I know in this sick world there's some 60 year old men that lust for kids. I learned that she's being put up in the Hilton Hotel, and that there's a studio in the wharehouse where I had contacted her.
My goal...Get a warrant with a little help from the Vice unit. I'll let you know what comes of it. The girl? I was on the phone with 4 different government agencies, none of whom wanted her, before I found somebody to take her. She claims to have lived on the streets, with associates in flop houses, since she was 9. Her mom is a crack addict hooker, who knows where dad is, and her only brother is in prison. Times like this I think how is it possible we let this happen?
J 8月23日 Let God sort them out!Ok, I'm a bit upset at the system again (big surprise).
We recently had a death of an officer, here in Seattle, and it was at the hands of a long time drug addict. She was driving a large SUV, at 80 mph, through a red light, when she hit the officer's car, in the driver's door. The officer was killed and had to be cut out of the car. The female suspect, BIT#$%!!!!!, dragged her sorry ass into the passenger seat, and claimed she wasn't the driver. Too bad for her we have witnesses. Turns out she had just gotten released from a jail facility, three days previous, and was under the influence of cocaine. She also had cocaine and drug paraphenalia on her person.
I don't understand why society tolerates these "people"? Why do we let them run around? If a dog attacks someone, and it is determined to be a danger to the public, it is put down (KILLED). I saw a bumper sticker that read, "If we live by the 'Eye for an Eye' we'd have a world full of blind people" WRONG! It was obviously written by some liberal pansy. Take out a few bad guys, the old fashioned way, and pretty soon we'd have one hell of a huge reduction in violent crimes against persons! As it stands now there is no penalty for committing crime. Most every felon I know is not afraid of "Doing time". It gives them a chance to shower, shave, eat, work out, watch TV, and sleep on a matteress with a roof over their head.
Chances are that the female suspect, who killed the officer in the car crash, will do about 2-6 months jail time...I'll let you know.
JJ 8月7日 Deaf is no excuse!Deaf is no excuse!
One of the officers that I work with was recently involved in an incident that is apparently going to be printed up in the local newspaper. I’ll give you the short story, because I wasn’t there and don’t want to get the facts wrong.
She’s an 8 year veteran and an above average cop. I trust her judgment and have faith in her abilities to do the job. So she was out cruising in a marked police car, when she spots a transient shaking the doors of a closed business. She circles around to talk to the guy, who had just ducked down behind some large pots.
She walks up to the guy, in uniform, and sees that the suspect has some sticks in his hand. She tells him to drop the sticks and he fails to comply. He then starts to walk away. She believes that she may have interrupted an attempted burglary, which means the guy is not free to go. She gets into his path and orders him to stop and drop the sticks. The guy still won’t cooperate and she is even pointing a taser.
When he tries to walk away, she fires the taser darts into him, but they have no effect. He rips out the darts and tries to get away. She fires again and again he rips them out and tries to run away. Another officer arrives and they both subdue the guy after he has thrown a handful of gravel at the face of the arriving officer (causing injury).
After the arrest a citizen walks up and explains the guy works at the business and is a deaf mute. Hmmm? Ok, so now the officer is the bad guy? I don’t think so! Even if the guy fails to communicate, and he can’t understand what the officer is saying, it’s still pretty obvious what is going on. If I lost my hearing and an officer stood in front of me, with a taser, and pointed to the ground, while shouting something at me, I would get down. Duh!
Let’s see. A uniformed police officer, a marked police car, she’s got a taser aimed at me. Ummm…Nobody else around, so it must be me she wants to talk to? Of course I’m sure it’ll be written up in the newspaper making the cop look as bad as possible. I guess it doesn’t pay for the police to contact possible burglars? Not too mention any auto thieves, rapists, or murders. They might be deaf!

8月4日 It pays to be badOk, so I am totally lost. I don't understand what is wrong with the people in charge of "The System"?! We've had some recent changes to department policy and the laws regarding traffic citations and police holds on patients at the hospital.
It seems some idiot thought that it wasn't within a police officers right to ask for a signature on a traffic ticket, so now we don't. We just leave the signature block empty. Huh?! So what happens when the violator shows up in court and says, "I was never there. It wasn't me." The signature helps establish that the violator was there! Also, it seems that too many suspended drivers weren't showing up for court after receiving their subpeonas, so the law makers made life a little easier for them.
It use to be that if we stopped a suspended driver we'd issue a citation, obtain a signature, and the violator would receive a subpeona in the mail in about three weeks. So many of them failed to show, which resulted in warrants, that they had to come up with a new plan....At the cost of the tax payers of course.
Now we issue a notice, which tells them where to appear on a specific date, and once again we don't obtain a signature. We're also told to grab their phone number, so the court can call them the day before to remind them. What the #$%@%!!!! We also use to impound vehicles, when the driver was suspended. Now we're told that we should park the vehicle for them if we are able, or allow a licensed driver to drive it away. Excuse me, but if there's a licensed driver in the vehicle (which happens quite often), and the suspended driver is too stupid to have that person drive in the first place, then screw them. Take the car I say!
Then it just gets a little better with this one. If we tried to book a guy into jail and the jail nurses refused them for medical reasons, then we'd drive them up to the hospital to get checked out. If the suspect was to be admitted, for any length of time, then we'd place a police hold on them. This means that the hospital would call us, when they were preparing to discharge the suspect. We'd pick them up and book them into jail.
Now, according to HIPA, we have to obtain a signature from the suspect, which allows the hospital to call the police!!! Of course they all decline to sign, so when they're discharged they just walk away. The Liberals are afraid that personal medical information might be compromised. Huh? They all smoking crack?! How can a phone call, "Hello police? Yes, suspect so and so is being released." compromise their medical records???
I asked the suspect if he'd sign the form and he laughed, "Sorry officer. I don't think I want to." I laughed too and said, "I don't blame you." As I walked away I looked at the doctor and said, "This city sucks!" I sure hope some voters read this and vote democrats out of city, state, and federal government!
